What We Believe

  We believe...

  • in the autonomy of the local church free of any external authority or control.
    (Acts 13: 1-4, 15:19-31, 20:28; Rom 16:1, 4; I Cor 3:0, 16, 5:4-7, 13; I Peter 5:1-4)

  • that all saved are kept by God's power.

    • But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name (John 1:12)

  • the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the inspired Word of God.

    • All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. (2 Tim 3:16-17)

  • in the Triune God, eternally existing in three person - Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.

    • Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost (Matt 28:19)

  • that the Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God.

    • Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. (Isa 7:14)

  • in the imminent return of Christ who will rapture His Church prior to the seven-year Tribulation period.

    • For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. (I Thes 4:16-17)

    • Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. (Rev. 3:10)

  • that Christ died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice and that our justification is made sure by His physical resurrection from the dead.

    • Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. (Rom 8:34)
  • water baptism and the Lord's Supper are the scriptural ordiananecs of obedience for the church of this age

    • Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost (Matt 28:19)
